In this article I am going to briefly outline a few of the main processes that are most commonly used in this field.In the combustion processes for example, the process can include any combustion. There are many different methods of combustion but for our purposes, let's consider the method of combining substances with hydrogen peroxide. This is the most commonly used method of combustion in chemistry and has been since the 19th century.Because of the difference in the types of reactions that can occur in a combustion process, each type has different properties, and therefore, different temperatures to achieve. For example, hydrogen peroxide produces a more violent r eaction which can be used to remove heavy metals such as mercury. However, it produces a lot of heat, which can be used to create items such as abrasive blasting caps.What is specific heat in chemistry also applies to other methods of chemical reactions, such as photolysis. Photorespiration uses energy to split water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen atoms and is one of the simplest processes of chemical reactions, and the basis for a wide range of energy conversion technologies.What is specific heat in chemistry also applies to the photolysis process, whereby energy is used to heat the surface of a substance, either in liquid or solid form. The beautiful rhyming in Spanish is again lost in the English translation. Translation: What did one fish say to another? Nada. The word nada in Spanish can refer to the command to swim, or the word nothing. This hilarious little joke is another play-on-words in Spanish. ¿Qué le dijo una ganza a la otra? Venganza Translation: What did one goose say to the other? Revenge. If you separate the first syllable ven,  meaning come, from the next two, ganza meaning goose, you’ll see that the joke’s answer simultaneously reads, come goose and the word revenge. Clearly, this joke does not work in English, so if it were translated in a movie, the subtitles wouldn’t capture it well, no matter how skilled the translator is. Talk about a dad joke! Se encuentran dos abogados y uno le dice al otro: - ¿Vamos a tomar algo? -Bueno ¿de quién? Translation: There are two lawyers and one says to the other: -“Let’s get a drink.” -“Yes. From who?” In Spanish the verb tomar (“to take”) is also used to mean “to drink,” so the lawyers are “taking a drink” and “taking something from someone” simultaneously. This highlights the cultural  tendency to view lawyers as corrupt, opportunistic, and greedy. ¡Te dije que me gustan las películas viejas y buenas y tú me llevaste a una película de viejas buenas! Translation: “I told you I liked good and old movies, but you took me to see a movie with pretty women!” This play-on-words is especially complicated. While vieja means old, it also refers to a woman, and while buena usually means good, it can also mean attractive when referring to a person. Getting lost on the way to class With large campuses and tons of distractions, its easy for students to get ‘lost’ on their way to class. The Student Center, friends who dont need to be in class, and a quiet bench under a tree in the middle of campus all seem more tempting than a lecture hall. However, students who end up late to class or skipping class altogether will miss valuable information. Avoiding a difficult professor Some professors have a reputation for being unforgiving and handing out insane amounts of homework. As a result, many students try to avoid these professors all together and get by with the minimum. Unfortunately, this usually leads to a poor grade for the student and an increased reputation for the professor. Instead, students are encouraged to meet with these types of professors and express their desire to do well in the course or learn about a specific topic. Students should meet with a professor during office hours and let their true good intentions be known. This might not change the grading scale of the professor, but it will help the student tackle difficult assignments and exams. 3. Leaving things to the last minute Many high school students will leave things to the last minute but may be able to hand in a late assignment for partial credit here and there.
